Statewide Beach Warning Flags

Have you seen the flags on the beach lifeguard station? Do you know what they mean and how important they are?
Here is the chart:

beach warning flags RED - High Hazard = High surf and/or strong current

beach warning flags YELLOW - medium hazard = Moderate surf and/or current

beach warning flags GREEN - Low Hard - calm conditions, but still exersize caution

beach warning flags PURPLE - Dangerous marine life

Never enter the water when the red flag is flying. And if in doubt - just ask the lifeguard on duty.

The 37th Annual Miami Beach Festival of the Arts. This signature community event showcases the artwork of 150 artists from across the nation.
